LONDON COUTURE

Is "exquisite" the right word to describe this creation? We believe yes, indeed. From a first glance, it's overtly distinct couture-quality can be noted. The sheer feeling of awe will strike when touching the fine silks, admiring the interior construction, listening to it's gentle rustling of petticoats, and getting lost in the detailed bead work.

Dating to the late-50s/early-60s, this ball gown was designed by Rhavis of London. Although this designer has very little noted reference today, in past we have owned another example from the same label, which bared the same fine details and distinctively feminine, couture-quality. During our past research we found references to the designer within British film credits for wardrobe design.
It's surface decoration features bead work and appliques, both of which were applied by hand. The gown is fashioned from layers of gossamer-fine silk, overlaid against internal layers of petticoats with intricate construction and hand finishing throughout. There is also a beautifully constructed internal corset.
Garment Measurements: Bust 34inches, Waist 25inches
