FRENCH GLITZ

An exquisite and rare set, from the original "golden age of couture" French high-fashion house, Maggy Rouff - Paris. The ensemble is comprised of a lavishly sequined chiffon overdress, abundantly decorated with iridescent small sequins, and large satin lapels with stitch detailing.

It's accompanied by the original silk satin under slip, which has horsehair along the interior of the hem to keep the delicately full shape. Perfect for an evening party, as the sequins will shine beautifully in the glowing ambiance. Presented in very good vintage condition, and original, free from alterations.
Garment Measurements: Bust 36inches, Waist 28inches (taken from the under slip, dress is a bit larger).

SIENNA IN OUR DIOR

A lipstick-red lace 1950's dress by Dior, was spotted on Sienna Miller by the press. We knew this was a hit when it entered our collection- the femininity is simply exquisite paired with such a devilishly regal shade of red.

COCKTAILS ... PARIS vs MILAN

Shorter length evening dresses are a simple way to dress up without the feeling of "too much." In today's dress sense, their practicality is also very great, taking the wearer from cocktail hour, through to dinner, and late night gatherings.

The first example is a fitted and gathered ivory silk dress by Jean Louis Scherrer of Paris, from the 1980's, whilst the second is a printed silk dress by none other than Emilio Pucci and features a unique exposed back.
Garment Measurements: Bust 34-35inches, Waist 27inches
Garment Measurements: Bust 36inches, Waist 29inches

LONDON COUTURE

Is "exquisite" the right word to describe this creation? We believe yes, indeed. From a first glance, it's overtly distinct couture-quality can be noted. The sheer feeling of awe will strike when touching the fine silks, admiring the interior construction, listening to it's gentle rustling of petticoats, and getting lost in the detailed bead work.

Dating to the late-50s/early-60s, this ball gown was designed by Rhavis of London. Although this designer has very little noted reference today, in past we have owned another example from the same label, which bared the same fine details and distinctively feminine, couture-quality. During our past research we found references to the designer within British film credits for wardrobe design.
It's surface decoration features bead work and appliques, both of which were applied by hand. The gown is fashioned from layers of gossamer-fine silk, overlaid against internal layers of petticoats with intricate construction and hand finishing throughout. There is also a beautifully constructed internal corset.
Garment Measurements: Bust 34inches, Waist 25inches

LIKE AUDREY IN GIVENCHY

Does perfection exist in fashion? What would it be- a whimsical robe de gala created by Dior, a slimline ultra minimalist demi-soir sheath by Balenciaga, or an elaborately adorned Balmain robe de soir with handwork by Lesage? One can only wonder and dream the definition, yet when eyes are laid upon a creation such as this, the reality is present, of what can only be described as "perfection."

A haute couture robe de cocktail of black silk, by the great Hubert de Givenchy, very much reminiscent in style to that of his muse- Audrey Hepburn, with elegance in abundance and seductive femininity. It bears meticulous styling, and sculptural form, that meets geometric precision- seen in the strong, bold lines and cuts of the construction.
Garment Measurements: Bust 36", Waist 27"
